Why it matters

When a service you use suffers a data breach, your email and password can end up in lists that circulate among attackers. With those credentials, an intruder tries to access your other accounts — the credential-reuse attack.

Knowing which breaches your email appeared in, and what kind of data was exposed (password, phone, address), lets you act: change passwords, enable two-factor authentication and close the doors before anyone uses them.
