Erro de Codificação

Fraqueza onde o software não codifica ou decodifica dados corretamente, causando interpretação errada da informação. Isso pode levar à contaminação de dados, bypass de validações ou execução de código indesejado quando o ataque usa uma codificação diferente da esperada pela aplicação.

Exemplo

Um sistema de filtro de SQL injection valida a entrada procurando por `' or '1'='1`, mas o atacante envia a mesma payload em codificação UTF-8 dupla ou escape sequences diferentes. O validador não a reconhece como maliciosa, enquanto o banco de dados a decodifica e executa.

Como mitigar

Padronize a codificação de entrada (defina UTF-8 explicitamente em headers HTTP, bancos de dados e na lógica de aplicação) e valide/sanitize dados APÓS decodificação completa, nunca antes. Use bibliotecas confiáveis de codificação e teste com múltiplos esquemas de encoding.
